The Story behind Constracorp
Constracorp began as a simple but powerful idea—born out of real challenges faced by our founder, Sabir, while building his own dream home in Guwahati. Like many, Sabir encountered a maze of obstacles: from navigating the complex approval process at the Guwahati Municipal Corporation to struggling with obtaining crucial home loan documents from the DC office.
He also uncovered disturbing realities about the construction supply chain. People procuring raw materials from suppliers were often cheated as they are mostly charged for high quantities of materials but were often supplied with lesser quantities through cheap industry practices. Prices for raw materials were unpredictable, controlled largely by informal connections and while some suppliers offered competitive rates, the quality was sometimes unreliable. Sabir witnessed firsthand how inferior materials found their way into construction projects, often going unnoticed—despite the serious risk this posed, especially in Assam, an earthquake-prone region requiring utmost structural integrity.
The challenges extended beyond just materials. Workers at sites frequently lacked essential civil engineering knowledge, leading to mistakes in construction techniques and inadequate curing of concrete—critical steps for a safe and durable home. These issues affected not only Sabir’s project but were common across many construction sites, threatening the safety and investment of countless families.
Growing up surrounded by construction machinery and insights—his father having been in the construction business since the early 2000s—Sabir knew there had to be a better way. Inspired by these early experiences and fueled by a vision to make home construction transparent, reliable and quality-driven, Constracorp was born.
